EEEP School-Based Climate and Energy Education Project
(a NHLSCP led project)
This project began with one student - Adrian Huq - leading energy efficiency campaigns throughout the 2018-19 school year at Metropolitan Business Academy. The success of the project led EEEP to apply for funds to expand the project into three new schools: the Sound School, Sacred Heart Academy, and Wilbur Cross High School.
The specific objects of the Project include:
- build student leader organizing skills.
- increase student, staff, parent energy efficiency awareness and action, so families save money and the community reduces GHG emissions.
- increase climate change action among students, in conjunction with New Haven Climate Movement Youth Action group.
- build on education/action strategies developed in year one.
